Founder Thilak Maliduwapathirana left his Bank of Ceylon career to work in the UK, earning capital to chase his dream. Starting in Gampola with two lorries as Maliduwapathirana Transport Service (MPTS), he supported the Kotmale, Victoria, and Nilwala projects alongside global partners.
This startup evolved into the Southern Group, with Southern Group Engineering being the first entity founded in 1978, marking a legacy built on undaunted fortitude and national contribution.
